Watery Sore Eyes
Tears are produced by glands under the skin just above the eye. These tears are released and flow onto the surface of the eye. Tears then drain out through the nasal passage. When there is an excessive volume of tears, the tears will leak out of the eyes and roll down the face. Tears are formed throughout the day to keep the eye slightly moist. The moisture of the eye acts as a barrier between outside infections and foreign objects. It also acts as a lubricant for the eye lids which shut and open over the eye when we blink. This process of blinking is designed to move a small amount of the tears out of the eye so that dust and foreign particles are continuously removed from the eye. When an individual is crying, he or she will have a large amount of tears produced which leads to the draining of tears across the face.
Another condition that can cause watery sore eyes or watery eye infections is one where a foreign object becomes lodged in the eyes. The eyes are designed to shed tears when there is some particle that needs to be removed from the eye surface. However, this particle may be lodged and may not move unless manually removed by the hand of the individual. When the tears continually flow, the individual will suffer from soreness because the surface of the eye will be irritated by this.
Fatigue is one of the main watery sore eyes symptoms. An individual who has not slept well may suffer from itchy watery eyes throughout the following day. Often, it is habitual to rub the eyes when experiencing tiredness. This only worsens the situation. Therefore the only watery sore eyes treatment in this case would be rest and sleep.
When seeking watery sore eyes treatment, it is firstly important to diagnose the underlying cause of watery sore eyes. Infection is one of the prime suspects in a situation like this. Another problem that might occur is that of an ingrown eyelash. This causes inflammation and irritation of the eyelids which transfers to the eyes as well. When suffering from a suspected infection of the eye, one could continuously wash the eyes as part of the watery sore eyes treatment. There are certain medicated eye drops that may be used to clean the eye surface before and after washing. It may seem perverse to add fluid to an already watery eye, but this is essential to cure the infection which will then cause tearing to subside. Infections in the eye if left unchecked could lead to a worse condition of watery conjunctivitis. This is a condition that is contagious and therefore cone would have to take even better care to heal the infection.
